In this video, we analyze a problem I'm seeing quite frequently in vehicles from the Stellantis group (formerly PSA): premature deterioration of the engine coolant with very low mileage. The car I show in the video has only 29,000 km, and yet, at its first service, the coolant is already very discolored and contains suspended particles. This condition of the coolant can end up contaminating the cooling system and causing dirt buildup within it. Degraded coolant loses its anti-corrosive and protective properties, which over time can affect important components of the cooling system, such as the radiator, water pump, thermostat, and hoses. Therefore, in the video, I explain why it's important to regularly check the condition of the coolant and recommend that, when discoloration or particles are observed in the expansion tank, it should be replaced with high-quality coolant. This way, the cooling system can be kept clean, the engine protected, and more costly breakdowns avoided in the future.
