Tecnoabsolutismo Global y transformación del poder. Una lectura desde la modernización reflexiva...

Full Title: Global Technoabsolutism and the Transformation of Power: A Reading from Reflective Modernization, Objectivism, and the Dark Enlightenment The Ateneo Mercantil Foundation of the Valencian Community, together with the Ateneo's School of Philosophy and AGEA Valencia, is organizing a new conference that invites reflection on one of the most complex and defining phenomena of our time: the transformation of power in the technological age. The event will take place on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the Sorolla Room (5th floor of the Ateneo Mercantil of Valencia), with free admission until capacity is reached. A Reflection on the New Invisible Power Power has not disappeared in the contemporary world. Far from it, it is silently transforming and shifting, adopting new forms that are difficult to identify at first glance. From Ulrich Beck's theories of reflexive modernization to the idea of post-democracy, in which political processes lose their centrality to other dynamics of influence, the current scenario raises profound questions. Today we are witnessing a paradigm shift: from political power to algorithmic power, and from visible institutions to invisible systems of control. In this intellectual journey, the conference will also address key currents of contemporary thought: Ayn Rand's objectivism, centered on individualism and rational egoism; Curtis Yarvin's metapolitical critique of the so-called "Cathedral"; The philosophical radicalization in Nick Land's Dark Enlightenment, which proposes new ways of understanding the relationship between technology, capitalism, and power. All of this leads to a concept increasingly present in current analysis: global technoabsolutism, a system in which power is articulated through technological networks, algorithms, and decentralized structures that profoundly transform society. A conference that not only analyzes the present but also invites critical thinking about the future. About the speaker: Dr. Arturo Gradolí Sandemetrio. PhD in Historical and Social Studies. He is a philosopher, computer scientist, and historian, with a career focused on analyzing the cultural, technological, and political transformations of the contemporary world. His interdisciplinary background allows him to address complex issues from an integrative perspective, combining philosophical thought with technical knowledge and historical rigor. He has worked in both academic and public settings, focusing his research on the relationship between technology, power, and society.
