The First Steps to a "Perfect" Vest

I've been working on an Edwardian outfit for my partner for over a year now. The shirt is done, the trousers are done — and the vest has been sitting in a box since last year because I cut the pattern pieces and then just shelved it. We have a historical train ride in Hanover in three weeks, so now seems like a good time to deal with that. This week was a lot of mock-up fitting, hand stitching, and a book with instructions that really do assume you already know everything. The vest is still in pieces at the end of it. But the right pieces, at least. Also, I finally finished my candy shirt, so that's something.
