Magheramason Village Parade The small but steadily growing village of Magheramason, sitting right on the County Tyrone, County Londonderry boundary, came alive today with its biggest band parade of the year, even if only two bands made it in the end. Barron Accordion were unable to attend, but the Sons of William Flute Band from Donemana arrived early, joined by the Glendermott Valley Flute Band from Londonderry. Together they led the Bready No Surrender Club of the Apprentice Boys of Derry around all three housing estates in the village. Despite Magheramason’s small size, the locals had the flags up early, and a surprisingly large crowd gathered to watch the spectacle. The warm summer weather added to the atmosphere, giving the whole event a lively buzz. The parade passed off peacefully, just as expected.
