Huge shout out to Phil at GAP Automotive in South Florida for supplying this weeks teardown! Today I tear down a blown up(or out) BMW B58B30 Engine from a 2017 BMW 340i. This engine is used in the majority of the BMW lineup and even the new Supra! Its an engine that is still in production so I was excited to see how it comes apart, and how it came apart. Overall, I much rather work on one of these than its predecessor. This engine is much simpler than the N55. Seems to be pretty well made though I do have concerns over the timing system location in years to come. I hope you enjoyed this teardown!
