DO NOT FIX THESE CARS! Another JUNK Bmw N63 Hot-V Twin Turbo Engine Teardown. RELIABLY UNRELIABLE!

For parts email us at [email protected] For this week, I wanted to teardown an engine that was supremely destroyed! Normally I rely on Subaru to satisfy that demand but since I tore down a Subaru CVT last week I chose this BMW N63. The first iteration of N63 is by far one of the worst engines Bmw has EVER produced. There is no permanent solution for any of their common issues and the repairs are prohibitively expensive which ultimately renders most of these vehicles scrap when the engine fails. This is the engine from a 2012 BMW 550i GT X-drive. It has just over 140K miles which is close to a world record, but it has catastrophically failed. These engines have multiple failure points. Valve stem seals, Timing chain guides, Coolant and vacuum leaks, oil leaks, fuel injectors, rod bearings, the list is endless. While they do run nice, they don't run nicely for very long without expensive repair bills. WRECKED! 22:18 Crammin' the cam cramps off of the left cylinder head 23:45 Loud Pops from the head bolts releasing tension! 24:17 Decapitating the left bank of this engine.
