FREEZING Helvellyn Solo Bivi Camp At Over 3000ft

Lake District - Headed up to the summit of Helvellyn, Englands 3rd highest mountain at 3114ft, for a solo bivi camp in my Alpkit Hunka XL bivi bag. Considering its the most popular mountain in Britain it was wonderful to have the place to myself for the night. An amazing cold night of solitude on the mountain, with very little wind and clear skies above. Fantastic views down to Red Tarn and along Striding Edge. A nine mile round trip from Thirlmere with 3000ft of ascent.
