Aiki Insights Episode 63: LEVERAGE series part 7

Aiki Insights Episode 63: LEVERAGE series part 7 This episode is Part 7 of this new series on the principle of LEVERAGE. In it we explore the importance of the point (tendon) above the elbow, and how leverage is applied there to make techniques feel effortless, making strength redundant. Furthermore in this episode, we begin to explore how both uke’s physiology and psychology can be affected through precision with this point - here we will use the ‘lens’ of the technique HIJI OTOSHI/KIME + HIJI ATE. In these videos we aim to explore all things Aiki in a budo sense (a martial sense) and delve into the concepts and principles that make this martial art such an effective form of self defence and self development. The presenter is Ryan Slavin Shihan (6 Dan Goshu-Ryu Aiki Ju Jutsu , 5 Dan Yoshinkan Aikido, 2nd Dan Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do, Carlos Machado BJJ Purple Belt) and uke is Stuart Gilmore (2 Dan Goshu-Ryu Aiki Jiu Jitsu, Sho Dan Yoshinkan Aikido). Ryan Slavin is a direct student of Mori Michiharu Shihan: The founder of Goshu-Ryu Aiki Jujutsu and the last uchideshi of Master Gozo Shioda (Kancho Sensei), the founder of the Yoshinkan and direct student of Ueshiba Morihei O'Sensei.
