The Mariquinha Waterfall, in Ponta Grossa, is one of those destinations that is totally hidden and requires patience to reach, but delivers a MUCH greater experience than we imagined. Between rocky walls, preserved forest, and an impressive waterfall, we understand why this place has become one of the most visited natural spots in the Campos Gerais region of Paraná. If you're looking for things to do in Ponta Grossa, waterfalls in Paraná, or different destinations to include in your itinerary, this video will show you whether or not it's worth visiting this place. 🌊 What to expect from Mariquinha Waterfall A 30-meter-high waterfall with a shallow pool that forms a small beach in a clearing, complete with sand. The place functions as a natural bathing area surrounded by forest and the walls of the waterfall. The best time to visit Mariquinha Waterfall, both visually and for swimming, is in the afternoon. During this period, the sun shines directly on the waterfall, making swimming more enjoyable and taking more beautiful photos. ✨ Impressive waterfall ✨ Perfect area for swimming and contemplation ✨ Several trails beyond the waterfall ✨ Parking, camping, and chalets available for reservation ✨ One of the most surprising places in Ponta Grossa 🥾 What the trails are like: 🌊 Waterfall: 700m easy trail (30 min) to cleanse your soul. 🌅 Viewpoint: 200m (10 min) to contemplate the most beautiful horizon in the region. ✨ Imagination Trail: 500m (20 min) of pure contemplation and connection with the forest. All trails are easy, perfect for children and those seeking tranquility. Access to the waterfall is easy and ideal even for those without hiking experience. 📍How to get there: 🚗 By car: Mariquinha Waterfall is 35 km from the center of Ponta Grossa. 24 km are paved and 11 km are dirt road. Access is well signposted. It's best to use your cell phone's GPS to arrive without errors, and remember that there is no cell phone signal in this location, so downloading an offline map is a good idea. 🕒 Opening hours: Open Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 am to 7 pm 👉 Entrance Fee: R$ 45.00 per person, cash and card accepted. (March 2026) ⚠️ Important tips before visiting: ✔ Unfortunately, the restaurant is no longer there, which was frustrating when we visited because we were hungry and there was nothing to eat, so bring snacks and drinks. ✔ Bring insect repellent and sunscreen. ✔ Wear comfortable shoes; the trails are easy, but it's worth wearing appropriate footwear. ✔ If you have a low car, be careful. It's 10 km of dirt road, with sand, loose stones, potholes, and the place is quite far.
