This walk in the Eskdale valley takes us on a track at the side of Hard Knott Pass shortly reaching Hardknott Roman Fort where we spend some time exploring before moving on to Hardknott Pass and the ascent onto the fell eventually reaching Hard Knott summit, our first wainwright of the day.  Descending we take a visit to Yew Bank.  From here it is a stable and steady down to Lingcove Beck. Heading down Lingcove Beck we encounter a series of pools ideal for wild swimming. These soon turn into Lingcove Beck Waterfalls. I would say that these features make this one of the most exciting valley walks in the Lake District and really add to the beauty of the Eskdale Valley.
