Ils quittent leur vie d’ingénieurs pour devenir paysans
Today, I'm taking you to the Limousin region of France to meet Christelle and Guillaume, two former engineers who decided to leave it all behind to create their farm: Courgette et Poulette (Zucchini and Chicken). After a life in an office, with rigid schedules, construction projects, and a routine that was starting to lose its meaning, they chose to radically change course. Despite not coming from an agricultural background, they trained, sold their house, left the Savoie region, and settled with their children to build a farm that reflects their values. On site, they cultivate three activities: cut flowers, laying hens, and market gardening. Their farm is conceived as a life project, driven by the desire to produce healthy food, work outdoors, find meaning in their work, and also maintain essential freedom: the freedom to experiment, learn, adapt, and avoid burnout. In this episode, we discuss career change, the relationship with work, fear of failure, financing, mental load, agricultural solidarity, and also what it truly means to be an entrepreneur when you start a farm. An inspiring episode about those who choose to take the opposite path: leaving a comfortable life to confront reality, the land, animals, the weather… and a different idea of success.
