Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich sings a love song from the Muskerry Gaeltacht. The song 'An Cailín Aerach' was composed by Pead Bhuí (Pádraig) Ó Loingsigh, a poet, musician and healer who spent much of his life in Kerry but was originally from the Cúil Aodha area in the Muskerry Gaeltacht (in Irish Gaeltacht Mhuscraí) of west Cork. The word aerach can be translated as lively or light-hearted, and the song is a tribute to the object of Pead Buí's affection, a servant girl who in the household of Máire Ní Thuama, a young woman who is fun loving yet sensible, Ar maidin Dé Domhnaigh roim Aifreann d'éisteacht, Bhí cuideachta shúgach i dtigh Neilí Héaly, Bhí na búird á mbualadh Is an t-ól á ghlaoch ann, Bhí sí ann is níor ól sí braon de. Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich is accompanied by Siobhán Breathnach on the harp. This episode of The Mountain Lark’ was broadcast on 26 November 1987. The presenter is Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich. 'The Mountain Lark' was a traditional music, song and dance programme produced in conjunction with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. It was presented by singer Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich from Cultúrlann na hÉireann, the Comhaltas headquarters in Monkstown, County Dublin. The first episode was a special on Galway musicians and dancers and was broadcast on 29 April 1985. 'The Mountain Lark' ran for four series, finishing on 23 December 1987.
