Lionel trainsounds tender-Rio Grande with metal shell rebuild
just got this trainsounds tender today, original shell is UP but I had a Rio Grande one from a set I bought a few years ago that I swapped out after repairing this one. I had to take the tender apart and clean the copper wipers along with the wheels & axles but now it sounds great! Love these tenders as well as the early railsounds tenders because I can run them with my postwar locomotives and bring them into the 21 century sound! Because of it's rough condition with the rusth, I didn't pay much for it either.
