STRANGE Haughton Traction Elevator with GAL & Otis Lexan fixtures - 41 Chestnut St, Rochester, NY

Filmed on April 27th, 2022 with ‪@geneseetrainselevators2448‬. Since today is April 1st, I of course need to Celebrate by uploading something that many people would think is fake or unusual. And here we have an Antique Elevator that was originally installed in 1930 that was completely modernized by Haughton in the 1960s! Finding an original Haughton Elevator that is still original in today's times certainly isn't something you see every day, however there is nothing truly "unusual", "fake" or "weird" about finding one..... What is however is the slap on mod that this elevator later recieved in the 1980s, which is VERY STRANGE in that it has an Oddly laid out GAL COP with a Vertical built in Indicator, with GAL JetPlus for some of the buttons, but Newer Otis Lexan for some of the other buttons. I HAVE NO IDEA why they decided to mix the buttons up like this on the COP when they modded this elevator and it looks very weird and unusual, but it definitely makes this elevator pretty unique! And even though the COP may have been replaced in the 80s, literally EVERYTHING ELSE about this elevator still remains original from when Haughton modded it in the 60s, including the ORIGINAL L Series call stations, giving this elevator a total combination of THREE fixtures!!! Very unique and very unusual! And as for everything else about this elevator, mechanically it runs quite rough, I am assuming this elevator is likely Single Speed, and the doors are a bit rough too. On the bright side though, the Relays are VERY Loud and EPIC, the 3 SPEED DOOR is REALLY COOL and the Call Stations are in EXCELLENT Shape with the Roto Dial Indicators working on some of them! This is overall another strange mutt of an elevator out of a few I've seen, and one that certainly has a lot of character! I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're ever in Rochester, just know that the area this elevator is in is kind of sketchy and there was a Cop car outside when this video was taken. (Unknown, Manually Controlled and/or Gated Elevator) Modernized: 1st Modernization: Circa 1960s (Haughton with L Series Call Stations and either a L Series or Black Button COP, New Motor, New Controller, New Inner Doors, New Cab, etc. Only the outer doors on certain floors left original. 2nd Modernization: Circa 1980s (GAL Replacement COP with JetPlus and Newer Otis Lexan buttons. Otherwise left untouched from 60s Modernization.)
