Inside of Auschwitz Concentration Camp, there is a gallows that stands today and it was on this execution device that the infamous Commandant of Auschwitz was executed on. Rudolf Höss is remembered as the evil commandant of the site that was responsible for the slaughter of over 1 million people, and because of this he was condemned to death at the end of the Second World War. Rudolf Höss was brought back to Auschwitz for his execution and he was taken to the gallows by a hooded executioner. The gallows of Auschwitz was constructed by German Prisoners of War, and it was on this that still stands where the former commandant was executed.
