SURFING SIARGAO WITH THE BOYS

Join us as we return to one of our favorite places in the world, Siargao in the Philippines, home to the world famous wave known as Cloud 9. Beginning where all trips do, at the airport, we find ourselves in the classic moment of truth when traveling on smaller planes, did the boards make it? Indeed they did, at least for our crew. Varun, Teddy and Westen were stoked. Our Aussie friends Jay & Ty, as well as Raffa, didn't get so lucky, but in the next day or two they were due to arrive. Carpooling from the airport to Siargao, the boys are joined by none other than the aerial surfing pioneer himself, Christian Fletcher, where for a fleeting moment we catch a chat with the legend and get a small glimpse into his epic life. Arriving at the only spot we stay at there and the best, Harana Surf Resort, where we're always greeted with their local Calamansi juice welcome drink and the best energy. Getting settled in and sorting through the boards, Jay Occhilupo cruises over to borrow one of Varun's magic blades since his boards didn't make it yet. Then the boys head over to Cloud 9 to wash off the travels and have some fun. Back at Harana the next day, the crew escapes the sun and 30 degree C heat in the cool AC of their bungalow, casually awaiting the arrival of Bronson. By that time all of the competitors had arrived for the QS coming up at Cloud 9, so to avoid the crowd and catch more waves, the crew decided to hop on a boat and surf a novelty right hander that turned out to be pretty fun, and has a beautiful set up to watch. The next day it's time to get some practice in at Cloud 9 before the contest starts and everyone shreds through a fun but super crowded day of surf. Chillin' on the beach later with Bronson as he is about to paddle out for a quick surf, a random "influencer" shows up and asks to borrow Bronson's surfboard, simply to pose with it while standing around getting their photo taken, pretending to be a surfer. Mind blowing and absolutely hilarious at the same time. Siargao always has something entertaining happening. Speaking of, once the wannabe surfer was done with their photoshoot, the boys kicked it while watching Bronson surf some fun waves in front of Harana as the sun went down.
