1965 Airline Valco 62-9026a w/ 6973 Tubes (Jimmy Page Tone!!!)
This is an extremely RARE, CLEAN, original, vintage 1965 Airline Valco Professional 210 Combo w/ 6973 Power Tubes Model 62-9026a It's no wonder these are sought after - it has a tone that will peel lead paint from the walls. The crunch is unlike anything you will hear anywhere else. No other power tube breaks up quite the same way as these. Research the Valco 6973 amps to see what I mean. This amp has been fully serviced - caps replaced, 3-prong added, trem and reverb circuits have been serviced. All tubes are original RCA. They include in the main amp section: 2x 6973 power tubes, a 6EU7, 5u4 rectifier, 3x 12ax7, and another 6973 in the reverb circuit. The speakers are Jenson Gold Label C10-R. Other than the caps and power cord this amp is all original, no mods, and is SUPER CLEAN! There is one tiny spot on the grill cloth and a couple little dings on the sides in the tolex, but this might just be the cleanest amp of this type in existence. Valco is the same company that made Supro, Gretsch, National, Oahu, and some Harmony amps from the late '30s thru 1968 when they were bought out. Some of their most prized productions are any of the amps they made in the 60s which feature 6973 power tubes. Why? Because most of the people who don't believe Jimmy Page's amp was a Supro Thunderbolt S6420, believe his amp was a Supro S6424. This amp is a very close circuit to the S6424 with added Reverb! The S6424 had a single 12" speaker instead of 210s, but those are pretty much the only two differences.
