Capacitors More Leaky than the FBI!- National Valco Tremo-Tone 1224 Repair
In this video we'll service a very cool 1954 National Tremo-Tone guitar amplifier and talk about why it's so important to go ahead and change ALL caps - electrolytic AND signal coupling caps - in most vintage amplifiers. We'll show how to test for and identify most leaky capacitors in circuit while the amp is on. (Repeat at your own risk!!!) We'll also talk about why I don't usually bother testing replacement caps for outer foil orientation. Grab some popcorn and watch the sparks fly on that one!
