Fender nailed Ace Frehley's tone - but only in Japan!?!!
This is one of the greatest amps I've ever played. And I didn't know it existed even a couple of weeks ago. Fender Japan built a series of high end all tube amps exclusively for the Japanese market in the mid 1980s. These were FAT1, FAT and FAT5 (Fender All Tube). In this video I play a FAT3, which is a 30W, 3x12AX7, 2x6V6 amp. This amp comes the closest to Ace's and Paul's 1975 Alive! tone of all amps I've played. I'm playing it with a 2008 Gibson Les Paul R9 and a 1969 Gibson SG Special. I'm using a 1967 Celestion G12H25 75Hz T1217 Pulsonic Greenback in it!
