🔴 CERRO CANDELA: CORTE TOTAL y ASFALTADO en la Carretera Central

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, I passed by the construction site at Cerro Candela in Ate Vitarte. I began my journey from west to east, where the detour created by the construction work is visible. In this section, one part has already been paved, while the other has had its asphalt primer applied, a necessary step before continuing with the paving. From an aerial view, the progress is much clearer, showing that Cerro Candela has already been completely cut to widen the Carretera Central (Central Highway). It's also clear that part of the retaining wall has been built, which will support the hill after the cut, preventing landslides and providing stability to both the road and the homes located at the top. Part of the Carretera Central has also been paved. The cutting of the hill represents one of the most significant changes in this area, as it will allow for a wider and more efficient road. This will help reduce traffic congestion during peak hours. So far, the project is showing significant progress, and once completed, it will allow for faster and safer traffic flow, directly benefiting thousands of users who travel daily on the Central Highway.
