🚨 CERRO CANDELA + NUEVA BARANDA | CARRETERA CENTRAL + NUEVAS TUBERÍAS

Tuesday, June 23, 2026: I toured the progress of the Central Highway expansion and the Cerro Candela cut in the Ate district. The entire auxiliary road is completely paved, as are the sidewalks. From the air, it's clear that the old asphalt has been removed from the eastbound lane. It's also evident that the ground has been removed and excavated in certain areas. A trench has been dug that directly connects several drainage manholes in the ground, and orange pipes are visible, which appear to be part of this sewer system. This excavation work aims to interconnect the network to properly channel the area's wastewater and address the problem of leaks. Over here, in front of the Tokio gas station, the old asphalt has been removed. It's worth noting that this project is being carried out by the Municipality of Ate, led by Mayor Franco Vidal. On the wall of the Cerro Candela cut, you can see that metal railings have already been installed in this area, serving as protective structures. This new installation complements the elements visible at the top of the wall. At the bottom of the floating houses, everything remains the same as on my previous visit. The inauguration of the Cerro Candela cut is scheduled for the end of this month, according to the information shared. Well, that concludes today's visit or tour. See you in the next video.
