Eleven days before the start of the World Cup, the Mexico City government and the city's Metro system inaugurated the complete modernization of Line 2, including the Tasqueña, General Anaya, Ermita, and Portales stations, while Chabacano will open to the public in the coming days. Mayor Clara Brugada reported that the total investment amounted to 2.2 billion pesos, of which 1.5 billion came from federal funds. Metro Director Adrián Rubalcava explained that 950 million pesos were allocated to train and track maintenance, and 550 million pesos to station renovations. The project allowed for the refurbishment of seven trains and increased the operational fleet from 27 to 34 units. Each train can carry up to 2,000 passengers, significantly increasing service capacity and improving passenger mobility.
