Daxiaojing in Luodian, Guizhou, is a hidden landscape surrounded by karst peaks, underground rivers, clear springs and traditional Bouyei villages. Today, a monumental arch bridge spans the valley, bringing modern infrastructure and an old riverside community into one extraordinary scene. This drive begins in Moyang Village, Moyang Town, Luodian County, at the junction of Township Road Y012 and the Moyang Interchange of the S62 Yuqing–Anlong Expressway. After leaving the expressway system, the route follows Y012 into the mountains and then joins Dajing Road beside the valley. It continues along the left-bank riverside road, passes through Dajing Village and reaches Guanjing Road on the right bank, revealing the Daxiaojing Bridge, river, villages and surrounding karst mountains from several elevations before ending at No. 1 Parking Lot of the Daxiaojing Scenic Area. Daxiaojing lies near the southern edge of the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau, where the highlands gradually descend toward the hills of Guangxi. Water has dissolved the limestone over immense periods of time, creating clusters of karst peaks, enclosed depressions, caves, sinkholes, underground rivers and powerful springs. Water emerging through cracks in the limestone feeds the Dajing River, producing changing shades of blue and green between the mountains. Bamboo groves, farmland, old trees and riverside villages give the valley the appearance of a secret oasis hidden inside China. The Daxiaojing Bridge is a major engineering structure on the Pingtang–Luodian Expressway. It is a deck-type concrete-filled steel-tube arch bridge with a 450-metre main span and a total length of about 1.5 kilometres. During construction, dozens of large steel sections were lifted and assembled more than 200 metres above the valley before the arch was closed with extremely high precision. The expressway opened in 2019, greatly improving connections between Luodian, Pingtang and the wider mountain regions of southern Guizhou. Dajing Village and the nearby communities have long been home to the Bouyei people. Riverside settlements, farming, bamboo forests and traditional rural life form the human character of Daxiaojing. As access has improved, bamboo-raft trips, guesthouses, local restaurants and rural tourism have developed, while the bridge itself has gradually become part of the scenery rather than only a transport structure. At around 14:50, the drive explores a road blocked by debris flow. Loose stones, mud and the interrupted road surface reveal the real geological risks faced by mountain roads exposed to heavy rainfall, steep slopes and weathered limestone. The journey then returns to Guanjing Road, climbs the village roads near Meipo Village and descends toward the scenic-area parking lot.
