DIY HAIR TIE WITH KANZASHI FLOWER BASIC POINTED PETAL |Episode 2| Series KANZASHI FLOWER

We continue with Episode 2 in Series KANZASHI FLOWER. In this video, I share you tutorial to make an elastic hair tie using kanzashi flower with basic pointed petal pattern, made of gross grain ribbon. Just small accessories but they are really useful for ladies and girls in Summer. *TOOLS: We need to use as list below Scissors, Ruler, Tweezers, Lighter, Hot glue gun with glue stick, Sewing needle with thread. MATERIALS: We need to use as list below Gross grain ribbon in width 2” & width 3/8”, Circle felt, Artificial stamens, Pearl beads, Round elastic. STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTION: Step 1: Prepare the petals 1.1. Cut ribbon 2” into square shape, 7 pcs per flower. Cut ribbon 3/8” into 1 pc in length 3cm 1.2. Use lighter to gently burn the cut-edge to prevent ribbon fraying. Step 2: Create the petal shape 2.1. Fold the square diagonally into triangle 2.2. Fold in half then we have smaller triangle 2.3. Draw the 2 hypotenuse to match each other and adjust to form petal in pointed shape 2.4. Trim the end of the petal then use the tweezers to keep it tight for burning to seal cut-edge 2.5. Trim the bottom tip and seal it with the lighter to hold the petal shape Step 3: Assemble the flower Use sewing needle with thread to attach all petals together to form a circle flower. Step 4: Finish touches 4.1. Put artificial stamens onto center of the flower and use the hot glue gun to fix it 4.2. Glue attached petals onto circle felt. 4.3. Use glue to attach elastic onto underside of circle felt 4.4. Attach ribbon width 3/8” to reinforce elastic firmly on flower base 4.5. Use sewing needle to sew pearl beads onto each petal for decorative *HIGHLIGHT I made a summary process to create the petal shape - the most difficult step for your easy remember. APPLICATION: We can apply this basic pointed petal pattern to make other accessories such to attatch on U-pin or brooch or decorative other things with your unlimited creation.
