Painting Natural Looking Shadows in Watercolor

Sometimes the shadows in our paintings, if painted too dark, can resemble black holes which suck all attention to them and completely overtake the painting. If we want to paint natural looking shadows on things bathed in sunlight, there is an easy scientific formula to follow.
