Painting Value Patterns Accurately in Watercolor

My hope is that this video finds you all safe and healthy. One of the most important skills we can develop as artists is the ability to correctly see the value pattern in a subject. There are several ways to improve our ability to do this--we can use a value scale regularly to check the accuracy of our values, we can look at our subjects in black and white, and we can even use helpful apps to allow us to create black and white thumbnails of our source material.
