We Flew Into Alaska's Wilderness for Wild Rainbow Trout!

Honey and I flew my vintage Cessna 170B bush plane deep into the Alaska wilderness for an unforgettable fly-in fishing adventure. After landing on a remote, overgrown abandoned dirt road, we hiked into the backcountry with one goal: catch a couple of wild Alaska rainbow trout for dinner. With Honey by my side and our camp packed on our backs, we followed a crystal-clear stream hidden far from the road system in search of the perfect fishing hole. It didn't take long before some incredible rainbow trout started biting. There are few meals better than fresh fish cooked over an open fire after earning it in the Alaska backcountry. As evening settled in, we set up camp beside the stream, cooked our fresh catch over the fire, and spent the night surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Alaskan wilderness. The area is well known for its healthy bear population, so we stayed alert throughout the night. At one point, Honey suddenly got spooked by something outside the tent, making for a long, uneasy night in bear country.
