The fox lifts his left hind leg and marks his territory, and immediately afterwards his right leg as well, marking the same spot again. After that, the couple got back together. Staring, chasing, physical contact, pressing against hedges, scratching with hind legs and wide-open mouths – fits very well with the rituals of fox courtship.
