The Isemarkt in Hamburg is Germany's most famous weekly market and takes place every Tuesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. under the elevated railway between the Hoheluftbrücke and Eppendorfer Baum subway stations. With over 200 stalls, it's one of the largest weekly markets in Germany. In this XXL food tour of the Isemarkt, I sample my way through 10 more exciting food stalls – from Portuguese classics and pasta to fresh oysters. ⸻ 📍 The 10 stalls from this video: 1. Portuguese Stall Portuguese specialties with many sweet classics. I had the classic Pastel de Nata with cinnamon. Price: €1.80 2. Italian Pasta Stall (unnamed) Fresh pasta from the display with various sauces. I had gnocchi in different variations. Price: 10 pieces €9.80 3. Stone Oven Bakery Bakery with one of Hamburg's most famous Franzbrötchen (a type of sweet roll) – for many, even the best in the city. Price: Franzbrötchen €2.50 4. Gourmet Lounge Traditional German cuisine from bratwurst to meatballs. I had the currywurst with cheese Krakauer sausage, fried potatoes, and sour cream. Price: €9.50 5. Tiramisu Bar Tiramisu in various styles. I had the brownie version. Price: approx. €6–6.50 6. Oyster Region Fresh oysters and seafood such as shrimp, scallops, and sea urchins. Price: approx. €25 for half a dozen oysters 7. Dario’s Empanadas Argentine empanadas with many different fillings – also vegetarian and vegan. I had the truffle empanada. Price: €4.50 / Truffle €5 8. Smash & Juice Japanese smash sandwiches on shokupan (Japanese milk bread), assembled similarly to a burger. Price: Double €11 9. Cheesecake Tent Cheesecake in various flavors. I had the lotus and blueberry combination. Price: €6 10. Coffee HY The coffee institution at the Isemarkt. They even supply the vendors with coffee during setup.
