Unwinding Stress: Belly Breathing
A simple breathing technique to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and lower stress. Belly/ diaphragmatic breathing is something I use frequently, in my yoga classes and in my daily life. When my vertigo kicks in this technique is really helpful, as well as when I’m driving, shopping, or just on overload. The key to this practice is to relax into it as much as you can. Do you best to not tense up, in this way its great practice beyond the breathing, its practice in letting your muscles relax. Keep breathing practices short until you know how they work for you. Stop if you don’t like it or its not working for you.
