I Didn’t Expect THIS Much Work Owning a Narrowboat… Doing more work on my narrowboat

This week, I have been too busy to produce a video…. So here is a video explaining why. It’s been a busy week on board the Grey Wagtail, getting everything ready for a big cruise planned for later this summer. And as any boat owner will know, life on a narrowboat isn’t just about the relaxing bits — there’s a lot of work that happens in between. In this short update, I take you through some of the jobs (all exciting stuff) I’ve been tackling, including: Washing down a very dirty roof after winter Repainting the gunwale and covering up scratches from the last cruise Installing motion-sensitive solar lights Wondering how I can access tgd other side of the boat that is away from, the dock for polishing and painting Trying to work out how to clean a green cratch cover Sanding and repainting boat gear like the barge pole, boat hook, and plank Restoring worn brackets and giving the top box a fresh coat Yes, all riveting stuff! It’s been a week of chores, painting, and general upkeep — the less glamorous side of narrowboating, but an essential one if you want to keep my boat in good condition.
