Abstraction and Associated Impoundment Licencing Regime in Practice : an update from Uisce Eireann
In this webinar, Ger Cafferkey, will outline what the Water Environment (Abstraction and Associated Impoundment) Act 2022 means in practical terms for Uisce Éireann as the State’s largest abstractor, including the scale and complexity of legacy abstractions and integration with drinking water infrastructure planning. Ger's presentation will also summarise progress to date in implementing the regime, including application submissions, assessment processes, and licences granted, and conclude with a discussion of the key roadblocks encountered.
