IPM in practice: Evaluating Crop Protection Strategies with the Web-Based IPM Self-Assessment Tool

On 27 May, the SUPPORT consortium hosted a webinar entitled “IPM in Practice: Evaluating Crop Protection Strategies with the Web-Based IPM Self-Assessment Tool (ISAT)”. The webinar, which gathered more than 60 participants, introduced the web-based IPM assessment tool developed in the SUPPORT project and explored key questions such as how to assess the risks associated with different crop protection strategies and how to evaluate potential trade-offs between productivity, costs and environmental impact. The session also featured an overview of feedback gathered from farmers and advisors in Germany, highlighting the tool's strengths, practical limitations and opportunities for further improvement. The speakers included Johan Bremmer (WUR), Vera Krause (JKI), Ole Hingst (JKI) and Jörn Strassemeyer (JKI) from the SUPPORT consortium, as well as Rui Catarino from the European Commission's Joint Research Center (JRC). The webinar was moderated by Erwin Wauters (ILVO).
