Uma CASA de FRENTE PARA O MAR com reforma INTELIGENTE
In this Open House, I invite you to explore a beachfront summer house on the coast of São Paulo that underwent a thorough and meticulous renovation. A project that respects the history of the original house but gains a new life through thoughtful architectural decisions, natural materials, and an intense relationship with the landscape. The renovation project was designed by architects Camila Fix and Marina Kalache, who faced the challenge of expanding the house without losing its lightness, reinforcing the horizontality of the architecture and creating integrated, functional, and extremely welcoming spaces. The house, which was previously more compartmentalized, now opens completely to the sea, the gardens, and the space for social interaction. Throughout the tour, I show how choices such as the use of matte Siena granite, catuaba wood, natural stone, and metal help to build an informal atmosphere, designed to be truly lived in. The integration between the living room, kitchen, and outdoor areas is one of the highlights, as is the intelligent joinery, which allows for opening or closing off spaces according to daily use. The outdoor area is a chapter in itself: a swimming pool, deck, mature gardens, and a privileged view of the sea define the house's concept. Everything was designed to enhance the landscape and create different ways of use, from breakfast to an afternoon aperitif. The bedrooms, enlarged and reconfigured, follow the same language as the house, with flexible solutions, cozy lighting, and a constant connection with the outdoors. This is a project that speaks of time, memory, conscious renovation, and choices that span decades. A house designed not only for now, but for the next 20 years. The project started as a blog in 2008, born from my passion for decorating spaces, when I was setting up my first home. With time and a lot of dedication, Casa de Valentina grew, took shape, and matured. I received invitations to write articles for leading magazines in the field, I was featured on a magazine cover, and we earned the title of the most influential design and décor blog in Latin America. Here on YouTube, you'll find a curated selection of architectural projects, with great interior design solutions. A space for us to share inspiration and good taste!
