In today's Open House, I visit an apartment I've been eyeing since the first time I saw the photos, and which, in person, is even more special. I enter the house alongside architect Guelo Nunes, responsible for a project full of personality, lightness, and very well-thought-out choices. Everything seems simple at first glance, but it soon becomes clear that the result comes from a keen eye for detail, circulation, and how the house is lived in on a daily basis. Throughout the tour, I show how a neutral base gains strength with well-chosen decisions, such as the use of stone on the floor and baseboards, stainless steel appearing as a protagonist in strategic points, the meticulously designed joinery, and an entrance that evokes memory and identity. Family pieces, well-resolved lighting, and discreet technical solutions blend naturally, creating an elegant, welcoming, and functional apartment, without excesses or rigidity. The conversation also delves into the technical choices that make all the difference in the final result, from the integration of the social kitchen with the barbecue area, through comfort and accessibility solutions, to the master bathroom, which features generous dimensions, a linear drain, a shower enclosure designed for thermal comfort, and details that show care for those who live there.
