The Minister of the Presidency, Justice, and Relations with Parliament, Félix Bolaños, appeared on the radio program "Hoy por Hoy" this Monday, coinciding with the extraordinary meeting of the Standing Committee of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), to assess the actions of Judge Juan Carlos Peinado following the order by which the magistrate confiscated the passport of the Prime Minister's wife, Begoña Gómez, arguing that the police officers escorting her could "facilitate" her escape. When specifically asked about this by José Luis Sastre, Bolaños avoided accusing Judge Peinado of malfeasance, but did describe the case against Begoña Gómez as "anomalous": "We are dealing with an absolutely anomalous case. That is indisputable.
