Attorney for Farmer Accused of Deadly Border Murder Lays Out Evidence in Opening Statement

Opening statements in the trial of George Kelly began Friday morning inside an Arizona court room. Defense attorney Brenna Larkin presented her statement, giving a preview of evidence the jury will hear throughout the course of the trial. Kelly is accused of fatally shooting a trespasser on his ranch property shortly after they had crossed the Mexico border. The victim, Gabriel Cuen-Butimea, is reported to have a history of illegally crossing the border.
