Cat and Cow This pose connects the pelvis, spine, and shoulder blades to release muscle tension. Lower back pain often results from muscle imbalances that prevent these three parts from working together smoothly. 2. Downward-Facing Dog with Stepping Legs Stiffness in the back of the body can lead to lower back pain. Tight hamstrings, especially those on the back of the thighs, can pull on the pelvis and distort posture, so gentle stretching is recommended. 3. Wrist Loosening While your wrists may seem unrelated, they affect your arms, shoulder blades, and latissimus dorsi. Using them in the same direction over and over can lead to stiffness, so loosen them up and improve your balance. 4. Twisting Pose Movements that increase hip flexibility can help prevent lower back pain. The hip joint is naturally flexible, but if muscles become stiff and restrict movement, you'll move in a stressful position, overworking your lower back and causing lower back pain. 5. Sleeping Pigeon Pose Stretching the muscles from your thighs to your buttocks will help smooth out stiff hip joint movement. 6.
