Buddhism along the Silk Road - Prof. Georgios Halkias

This is a discussion with Prof. Georgios Halkias of the Centre for Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong. We talk in the garden of the Dunhuang Hotel about his research on the transmission of knowledge along the Silk Road, including the transmission of Hellenism and Hellenistic elements to China. He also explains his interest in Tibetan manuscripts and the Tibetan influences in the murals at the Yulin Caves, which we visited the day before.
