Replenish your energy with this spicy dish home! =================================== Dakbokkeumtang (Braised Spicy Chicken) [Ingredients] Cut chicken 1kg (No.10) Brown sugar 1/2cup (70g) Minced garlic 1/3 cup (45g) Dark soy sauce 1 cup (190g) Coarse chili powder 1/2 cup (45g) Fine chili powder 1/3 cup (30g) 2 potatoes 270g 1/2 carrot 160g 1/2 onion 240g 3 green onions 160g 4 Cheongyang peppers 30g 1 red pepper 10g 2 king oyster mushrooms 50g 3 Shiitake mushrooms 70g A pinch of pepper 2g Water 600mL [Directions] 1. Cut shiitake mushrooms into quarters and slice king oyster mushrooms into 2cm-wide pieces. 2. Cut carrot in half and slice into 1.5cm-wide pieces. 3. Slice 1/6 of onion. 4. Remove potato peel and half in half before cutting into sixths. 5. Chop Cheongyang pepper and red pepper into 2~3cm-wide pieces. 6. Chop green onion into 2~3cm-wide pieces. 7. Clean chicken bones and guts out of chicken under running water. 8. Add 600mL (enough to submerge chicken) to a pot and put in 1 chicken and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. 9. Once the water boils, add potatoes, carrots, and onions. 10. Once vegetables are half cooked, add 1/3 cup of garlic. 11. Add 1 cup of soy sauce and add king oyster and Shiitake mushrooms. 12. Add 1/2 cup of coarse chili powder, 1/3 cup of fine chili powder, and cook for 30-40 minutes. 13. After getting the right consistency, finish with green onions, Cheongyang pepper, red pepper, and pepper. Rinse chicken under running water. (The area around the guts can smell, so clean thoroughly) Adjust cooking time based on preference.
