SOUTHERN 630 a legend gone but not forgotten

Southern 630 pulled its last train before its 1472 on November 2nd 2025 I first saw her running back in march of 2025 and I’ve seen her multiple times since but now that she won’t be running for a while I’ve made a compilation of some of my favorite clips of this beautiful southern steam locomotive. 630 has also provided many first of the railroad/railfan community such as she was the first running steam locomotive that I have seen and I’ve rode in the cab of a steam locomotive for the first time on 630 I’ve also had many unique experiences with 630 including blowing her whistle not 1 but 2 times the first was on march 2nd leaving east Chattanooga and the second for railcamp while she was under steam for her run the next day. I will always remember my experiences and the sights and sounds of 630 and of course 630 is smaller than 4501 and 4501 is more famous but for anyone who has ridden on or behind 630 or even just watched her pull into grand junction we will miss 630. -James
