Mount St. Helens: Climbing and Skiing an Active Volcano
Volcano Ski Extravaganza Part 1: Ever since our ascent of Mount Adams, when I looked over and saw Mount Saint Helens, I have wanted to ski its gentle slope. So I monitored the mountain weather closely. Finally things lined up. The weather cleared and I found someone who could take some time off to summit an active volcano. On our way we decided to go for a 2'fer and put Mt. Hood on the itinerary. It was an awesome 36 hours of pacific northwest splendor and wind.
