【旬彩の宿 緑水亭／離れ 翠玉の間】房総唯一の純和風旅館・温泉と旬の地魚懐石を満喫できる美食宿

We went to Japan in early November 2024, traveled to several areas, and stayed in several Ryokans and hotels. On the third day after arriving in Japan, we stayed at the traditional Japanese Ryokan, Ryokusuitei, nestled in the mountains of Kamogawa and Awa-Kominato in Minamiboso. This Ryokan has a calming atmosphere that evokes a Japanese atmosphere, and serves Kaiseki courses featuring locally caught seasonal fish. The room we stayed in this time was the Japanese Suite “Suigyoku” in the main building annex, which is the largest room in the Ryokan, with an area of 140 sqm (1500 sq ft) and is the highest-class maisonette type room. It was renovated and reopened in December 2023 , so everything is very new and clean. On the first floor, there is a spacious 14-Tatami Japanese-style room, and also a comfortable guest room with flooring next to it. At the end of the corridor, there is an indoor bath with a marble tub and a Shigaraki-yaki open-air bath, where you can enjoy bathing while looking at the green scenery of the mountains. On the second floor, there is a Western-style bedroom with two spacious and comfortable Simmons beds, and you can watch a 65-inch smart TV while lying in bed. The second floor is equipped with a half-bathroom, powder room, and private sauna (and another bath filled with cold water). For dinner, we ordered the Premium Plan, an exquisite plan that allows us to enjoy the best of Boso's seasonal produce, including spiny lobster, abalone, and Kazusa Wagyu beef. We enjoyed the seafood of Boso to the fullest, including live spiny lobster, abalone, and a specially ordered Sazae (turban) Sashimi. Furthermore, each and every beautiful dish was carefully prepared using seasonal local ingredients, making for a very satisfying dinner, both in appearance and taste. Breakfast also featured an abundance of seafood, with many small dishes and dishes that filled both our stomachs and our hearts. We were able to relax in the calm atmosphere that only traditional Japanese Ryokans can offer, and the staff's attentive service was wonderful, allowing us to spend a truly blissful time.
