If you grew up watching Sex and the City, chances are it shaped some of your ideas about New York City. I know it shaped mine. Long before I moved here in my 40s, I spent years romanticizing the city through TV shows, movies, and weekend visits. Like so many women, I fell in love with the fantasy. But after living in NYC for the past few years, I have learned that real life here looks very different than what we saw on screen. And honestly?
