After a meteoric rise to the top of the combined events world in 2023; Anna Hall had to overcome setback after setback to make it to top shape. The stars aligned for the 24-year-old American at the 50th Hypomeeting in Götzis, where she scored an outstanding 7032 points - making her the equal 2nd best performer ever in the heptathlon. Hall, who won bronze and silver at the 2022 and 2023 World Athletics Championships, hopes to complete her set of medals with a glittering gold in Tokyo later this year.
