The iconic dragonpit scenes were shot in the amphitheatre because of how epic the ruins are. They're just as cool in real life and it's exciting to know that Danarys, Cercei and Tyrion walked here. 2. To see the oldest Roman ruins in Spain. Itálica has been around since the second or third century AD when its amphitheatre could seat 25,000 people. 3. To see the mosaics. Itálica isn't just the amphitheatre. There's a whole city, slowly being uncovered on the neighbouring grounds. A huge highlight of wandering through these ruins is seeing the beautiful tile mosaics and watching archaeologists work on them. 4. To get away from the crowds. Seville is a beautiful and popular city. Naturally, many of the main sites can be packed. Itálica is like a little oasis from those crowds.
