And here are two close brothers who have been fishing together for half their lives. Hwang Sang-shin, with 52 years of experience, and Hwang Sang-il, with 47, have a combined career spanning over a century. "When I'm out with my brother, there's nothing to get angry about." "We're open and fun." Every fall, the brothers go on a "samchi (mackerel fishing)" expedition. On Chujado, they lure tuna with fake bait at dawn, using a pole-and-line method. The fish feed on nutritious anchovies, which are loaded with roe, resulting in firm, glossy flesh. "Autumn mackerel" Freshly caught tuna sashimi, wrapped in laver with aged kimchi, completes Chujado's so-called "samchi samhap." If "samchi samhap" is the autumn delicacy, Chujado's autumnal specialties are undoubtedly "rock bream" and "bangle bream." Chujado is a dream island for anglers. Without having to board a boat and venture far out to sea, you can catch these premium species just by casting your line. Anglers are competing in a fall rock fishing competition! Lee Chang-il, a Chujado resident who took part in the bet, visited Chujado 19 years ago to catch fish, and then met his current wife, reaping a newfound happiness.
