Despite the unpredictable weather, with storms occurring every three or four days, hundreds of people visit Chuja Island every day. In early January, despite a sudden cold snap, Chuja Island was teeming with people. Anglers competed for spots from dawn to catch larger and more black sea bream. Many of them came to Chuja Island to renew their resolve for the new year. Casting their lines into the rough waves, they regained the confidence they had lost during the economic downturn and reaffirmed their resolve. People who love deep-sea fishing have settled on Chuja Island... Captain Lee Man-jae, 62, who started his career in construction on Jeju Island, then joined the fleet. He has made Chuja Island his second home, running a guesthouse and a sea fishing owner. Park Chung-dong, who specializes in deep-sea fishing, meets with novice anglers and frequently visits fishing spots to advise them on safety precautions. Anglers stranded for three days due to a storm warning head out to sea in the early morning hours as soon as the warning is lifted, competing for fishing spots. The bite begins, and Chuja Island begins to come alive again, led by Park Chang-sik, who landed eight black sea bream. Captain Lee Man-jae, who worked in construction on Jeju Island, returned to the seafaring world late in his career.
