Today, from Cañaveral to Baños de Montemayor (91 km and 1200 m elevation gain). The climb to the Puerto de los Castaños pass is very tough and over quite rough terrain. Then 10 kilometers through the Cáceres countryside, near Grimaldo. Lots of narrow paths around Cáparra, lots of opening and closing gates, heat, and too many kilometers without a place to refill (37 km without seeing a soul and nowhere to get water) between Carcaboso and Aldeanueva del Camino.
