DÍA 4. El Camino de Santiago desde Sevilla en bicicleta. Día 4. El Carrascalejo-Cañaveral (106 km)
The Camino de Santiago from Seville by bike in 12 days. Day 3. El Carrascalejo-Cañaveral (106 km) In this fourth stage of the Camino de Santiago along the Vía de la Plata and the Camino Sanabrés, we continue through the lands of Extremadura. I tried to make up for the kilometers I missed the day before. I decided to set off at night from the El Carrascalejo hostel, attaching a headlamp to the handlebars. The first 22 km to Alcuéscar are filled with several cattle gates and some steep, rocky stretches that require pushing. It's a wasteland. Doing it early in the morning was easy, but that same stretch during the afternoon can be hellish. This is a stage where you travel along the Roman road that connected Mérida with Astorga, encountering numerous Roman milestones along the way. I also suffered from extreme heat, accumulated fatigue, and, in the final kilometers, quite thirsty. Regarding this stage, I would like to point out the toughness of the last 30 kilometers, between Casar de Cáceres and Cañaveral, where there is no water point, fountain, gas station, or any other place to refuel. This section is not at all recommended in summer, unless you start very early and have a lot of water. However, at this stage, after the first few days of uncertainty, I began to feel better both mentally and physically. This is the track I've followed during these twelve stages of the Camino de Santiago from Seville. https://es.wikiloc.com/rutas-mountain...
